Representation of Books
Descriptions and cover images for books are provided for your convenience. Whilst we make every effort to ensure that they are accurate, errors may occur and we do not provide a warranty for the correctness of information shown. Cover images on books are updated by publishers from time to time, and variations from the images shown can occur.
Availability
Except where otherwise stated, (for example, for pre-orders or books which are not in stock which you ask us to source on your behalf), the titles on our website are generally in stock at the time you place your order. If issues arise leading to purchased titles being unavailable within an acceptable time-frame we will contact you and offer the choice of an alternative or refund.
Post and Delivery Services
Where books are posted, we use standard postal services. Non-delivery of books will be subject to An Post processes for non-delivered post. If you would like registered mail this can be provided at an additional cost to you. Please contact us if this is the case.
If post parcels cannot be delivered, you will receive notification of this from An Post via a “sorry we missed you” notification. You are responsible for following up with them to receive your delivery. If items are returned to The Company of Books, we will issue a refund for the cost of the items only, excluding postage costs.
We may, at our sole discretion, decide to deliver items even where postage has been selected. If we do this, no refund of postage paid will be provided.
Free Local Delivery
Free delivery is provided as a convenience to our customers. The delivery zone is approximately 2.5 km from our premises at 96 Ranelagh and we reserve the right to amend this zone at any time. The delivery address entered at the time of purchase will determine whether the service is available or not. This service may be suspended from time to time but you will be advised of this prior to completing your purchase.
Processing Times
We aim to process all orders as quickly as we can.
Postal services – orders placed by 6pm are generally dispatched on the next postal service working day (Monday to Friday). An Post generally aim to deliver within 1-2 days of posting, however delays can occur.
If we have sent you a tracking number via e-mail, you can monitor progress of your item at https://www.anpost.com/. Please contact An Post with further enquiries if a parcel has not been received within expected time-frames.
Delivery Services
Our delivery timelines are subject to volumes and weather! We generally deliver each working day. If you have a particular deadline, please let us know during the ordering process and we will do our best to meet your deadline, however we are not responsible where this doesn’t occur.
While we generally organise our deliveries from oldest to newest, in order to maintain the free service, we also group items by area and delivery frequency varies. Delivery times are on a best endeavours basis.
- Ranelagh – daily
- Donnybrook, Ballsbridge – every 1-2 days
- Rathmines/Rathgar/Dartry – every 2 days
- Portobello, Milltown, Clonskeagh / other – every 3 days
Returns
Books which are unread and undamaged can be exchanged with proof of purchase, (Copy of online purchase confirmation or in-store receipt), within 30 days. You are responsible for any costs associated with returning the books to us. A credit note or online purchase voucher will be issued – lost vouchers cannot be replaced.
Gift Vouchers
The Company of Books gift vouchers do not expire, and whilst we keep a record of purchase and use, we are not responsible for lost vouchers. Online vouchers are in the form of a 16-digit code.
Variation of Terms
The Company of Books is permitted to revise these Terms at any time as it sees fit, and by using this Website you are expected to review these Terms on a regular basis.
Assignment
The Company of Books is allowed to assign, transfer, and subcontract its rights and/or obligations under these Terms without any notification. However, you are not allowed to assign, transfer, or subcontract any of your rights and/or obligations under these Terms.
Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between The Company of Books and you in relation to your use of this Website, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Ireland, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts for the resolution of any disputes.
