Donal O'Sullivan: An Artist Remembered

Donal O'Sullivan (1945-1991) was a gifted and prolific artist whose work was sadly neglected during his own short life and has subsequently failed to attract the attention it deserves. This book serves to re-evaluate his standing in the canon of twentieth-century Irish art and to confirm his status as an artist of major importance. To this end, the book records the views of people who knew O'Sullivan, as a brother, colleague, teacher, role model and friend. What emerges is a picture of an inspirational and multi-faceted human being who, in the words of one commentator, combined a 'calm, almost serene exterior [with] internal turmoil'. His artistic prowess is undisputed by those who are familiar with his work.
