Catastrophe

Catastrophe - Nakba II is a story of how Israel has conducted a genocide against the people of Palestine. It tells how Israel's long-term abuse of the indigenous people on whose land it's state was founded in 1948 crescendoed with its campaign to eradicate Palestine, it's people, it's history and culture following the Hamas attack of 2023. What befell the Palestinians was nothing short of another catastrophe - a second Nakba.

The first Nakba prefaced the establishment of Israel. 750,000 Palestinians became refugees; an estimated 15,000 were killed as Israel took its place among the nations of the world. A second Nakba has been inevitable for decades as Israel refused to leave the illegally occupied territories of Gaza, East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Golan Heights.

Catastrophe documents how the brutal Hamas attack was a direct result of almost eight decades of Israel's violent oppression of the Palestinians. The book establishes why Israel's response has been egregiously disproportionate, focuses on the wilful collusion of the United States and other Western powers, and suggests that, politically, Israel today wants to permanently colonise the occupied territories and wipe Palestine off the map.
