In Between Worlds by Nicola Pierce

The book that I read was In Between Worlds, by Nicola Pierce. It’s about a girl called Maggie, and describes her life throughout the Great Famine. We see how quickly her life changes, from being calm and peaceful, to desperate and frantic. This book showed me what it was like living in the workhouse, as well as on one of the boats to Australia. I enjoyed this book, and would recommend it to people aged 9-12.
