Drive Your Plow Over The Bones Of The Dead by Olga Tokarczuk

Set in a remote Polish village, Drive Your Plow Over The Bones Of The Dead is the story of a reclusive and somewhat eccentric woman who gets involved in a series of mysterious deaths in the village and takes it upon herself to investigate these crimes when the local police fail to take her seriously.

It is a thought-provoking novel which skilfully blends mystery with dark humour and philosophical reflection. Through the character of Janina – climate warrior, animal lover and unconventional detective – the novel asks us to examine the consequences of our actions on the natural world.

Drive Your Plow Over The Bones Of The Dead won the International Man Booker Prize in 2018 and Olga Tokarczuk was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature the same year.
